Foldaway Armoire Gym

Going to the gym to workout is generally perceived as a pain in the butt for good reason. You have to get changed, drive there, fight off the gym rats to use the equipment you want, meanwhile you are often surrounded by juiced neanderthals grunting about a foot away from your face. You do have the option of throwing that away, however, with this foldaway armoire gym. Everything that you need to get a full body workout conveniently packed away into a piece of bed room furniture. The gym takes up about 40″ of wall space when opened and 28″ when folded away. Bring some help, though, since as you might expect, the gym weighs about 500 pounds. Upper Aerobic Exercise

Call me crazy, but this upper body aerobic exerciser seemingly looks a lot like the shake weight, that ridiculous piece of infomercial equipment that was debunked as a valid form of exercise. Still, there might be some benefit to this particular piece of equipment, and it certainly looks flashy. The idea here is that the two handgrips you see are surrounded by circular rings. A synthetic pulley is attaches them together. The user must then grip his or her hands on the handgrips and then hold it perpendicular to their chest. By rotating your hands in a cyclical motion, you produce an upper body workout. In theory, anyway. Each ring has teflon bearings embedded on them which ensures that they will glide effortlessly. The piece is designed to work your major muscle groups like the chest, biceps, and shoulder blades.

While I enjoy Winter hats quite a bit, the only style I would wear during the more temperate seasons is an Irish derby hat. This list of gaming hats, however, has given me pause on my philosophy, as I think it would be great to have a fun gaming hat to wear around. Tetris Hat

I never considered the idea that Tetris would fit well when patterned onto a hat, but this Tetris hat goes to show yout hat it can fit the Winter hat style quite well. Pacman Hat

While it may be pragmatic, I don’t think it wins many points for style. The MP3 player looks rather blocky on it, but hey, maybe you’re not really that concerned with fashion anyway. Function over form and all that, I’m told.

Everyone loves Master Chief, even if you aren’t that big a fan of the HALO series of games. I’m n0t sure how effective it will be at fighting off the covenant, but you can’t always have your cake and eat it too, and who knows what the hat would actually cost if it was similar to the genuine article. Great, now I am going to have the theme song from the original show stuck in my head all day. I suppose that’s ok, though, since I get to show off this awesome looking Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cap. As you can see, it has a bit of a cartoonish look to it, but not so much that it looks silly. Quite the opposite, actually, and you can choose from your favorite turtle friend. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like there is any love for Shredder, Casey, or Splinter, however. I’d like to see a Rocksteady hat, for example, or maybe Krang! There are so many great characters from the show that you could super-impose onto a hat, so get on that people. Alternatively you can just pick up Leonardo and be done with it. I will actually be considering Raphael, although he was always so grumpy.

I can’t think of any video game fan who wouldn’t enjoy a game stitch artwork that harkens back to the day of classic Zelda. My wife absolutely adored the original game, and this stitched art from SpriteStitch helps to keep that memory alive.

This Zelda Map stitch measures 36.5cm by 32cm and took 4 months to create. This would be incredibly easy to frame and subsequently hang in my office, thus reminding all of my visitors of the glory that is the land of Hyrule. Mr. Villains Class of 1983 Poster

If someone asks you to think about all of your favorite villains from the 1980s’ era, chances are there are plenty that will come to mind. From Voltron to the original Transformers series to the Centurions, there was no shortage of badly written cartoons from that time that we all knew and loved. This Mr. Villains Class of 1983 poster shows us all of our favorite evil characters from Masters of the Universe. Starting from the top, we He-Man with a silly cap on, Faker, and Hordax. The second row includes Webstor, Whiplash, Jitsu, and Mer-Man. The last row includes Triclops, Beastman, Skeletor, Clawful, and Trapjaw. Wow, it has been awhile since I watched the show, because I only immediately recognized about half of the villains on the poster. Time to fire up one of my He-Man DVDs.

Photoshop Command Wall Art

While I am no graphics designer, even I need to fire up Photoshop to touch up some images here and there on occasion for my publishing. As such, I am fairly familiar with the Photoshop commands, and I would be happy to have a piece of wall art that depicts them and all of their glory. Well, someone has met that need with this Photoshop Command Wall Art. The piece does a great job of bringing these buttons to life. If they look a little different than what you are used to in your own Photoshop version, this replica actually uses the original buttons from the very first set of tools ever created. If you are curious about the year, Photoshop was originally born in 1989. That’s a seriously old software package for something that is still very commonly used today!  The board is a silkscreen print, with the hand being cut out to make it look as if it has been selected. Great stuff.

Few activities can provide the same nostalgic feel of playing the original version of classic games like Pac-Man and Donkey Kong. The bathroom on the second floor was near the top of the list, and I would love to get a geeky theme applied to it. Luckily for me, there has been a fairly wide array of different bathroom designs featured here at Gadgethim and over at Walyou, too. I have put together a small list of my favorite bathroom renovations for geeks, and I am sure you will enjoy them too!

Mario Brothers Bathroom

Itsa me, Mario! This Mario Brothers bathroom design has the potential to be a great piece of nostalgic gaming goodness. Thanks to the prevalence of Mario gear and the plethora of Nintendo options out there, putting together a bathroom design with your favorite plumbers is a snap. Now that I think about, they’re plumbers, so having them in your bathroom makes perfect sense anyway!

The Mario bathroom featured a number of great items like original Super Mario Bros. Wall art, a mushroom tissue dispenser, a brick trash can, and a Mario soap holder. Put all of this together and you are sure to make your nerdy friends gape at the sheer awesomeness of your porcelain throne.

Given the desire for sexual activity globally, certain cities and countries have taken steps to control sex in their jurisdiction. Between allowing women to exact revenge on cheating husbands and their lovers, enduring decapitation for some self-pleasure or even being restricted from having sex with a virgin at anytime in Washington State, some sex can be not only dangerous, but also illegal. On the other hand, weird sex rules like not being allowed to wear a penis costume as a member of the Nevada Legislature (damn, there goes my Halloween costume) and not eating a lamb after having sex with it (life as a shepherd gets lonely, I guess) make sense … although you’d think they’d be given and not have to be actually written out. Now one sex law I’m sure many guys here will like the idea of is Guam’s law where no virgin may be married and the job of making sure that no bride remains one pre-nuptials.

After HALO 3, the covenant story line seemed wrapped up, and all of the big prequels were presumable covered, too. Further still, the game’s main development studio, Bungie, had stated that they were finished working on the series, which seemed like closure to me. Yet HALO 4 was recently announced by Microsoft, which means that for better or for worse, Master Chief will once again be hitting a console near you with some snazzy battle armor and new weaponry. If you are a long time fan, this could be seen as good news or bad news, but now that we know HALO will be around for awhile yet, here is some awesome HALO stuff that any fan should consider.

HALO: Reach Custom Controller

Why play HALO with a boring old white controller when you have the option of making it look so much better? This HALO Reach controller skin gives your accessories a fantastic paintjob, inspired by the series most recent prequel.  This is no decal that will peel off at the drop of a hat, either, the design itself is hand painted. I’m not so sure that’s good for the dpad controllers, though, considering how much punishment these can take. You could always just get one controlller and use it as a display piece, I suppose, to reduce the usual wear and tear on the controller, but what’s the fun in that?

Master Chief Munny Doll

Even if you played ODST, you have probably come to realize that HALO really revolves around the continued dominance of the Mater Chief. He’s just that awesome, and now he can decorate your desk or window sill 24/7 with this HALO Master Chief Munny Doll. Oddly, the style almost makes him look cute, especially with his little plasma grenades in tow. The detail on the doll is pretty incredible given the style, and I am sure that this took quite a bit of time and effort to get together properly.  The energy blade is also a nice touch.

Master Chief Balloon Sculpture

Speaking of formats that I didn’t think HALO would be suited to, balloons definitely do not make me think of a futuristic covenant killing machine. Yet one girl decided that’s exactly what she wanted to look like, and I have to admit the final version of the Master Chief Balloon Sculpture is pretty impressive looking given the materials used. How does one even begin to construct a balloon machine gun, for example? A frag grenade is also clipped onto the belt for good measure, going to show us that we don’t need that stupid covenant technology anyway.

LEGO Master Chief Helmet

I know, I know, we have all seen a pretty wide array of Master Chief Helmet replicas out there, so just another helmet in and of itself wouldn’t be that impressive. This helmet is truly unique, however, in that it is constructed entirely from LEGOs. Better still, it is actually wearable! I’m not sure how many points it scores for comfort, or how you keep pieces from falling off at random, but the looks is there. I don’t have an actual lego count available either, but I can assure you that it would be quite a lot of pieces to make this HALO Master Chief helmet, and who knows how many man hours of construction. After an effort like that, I would be afraid even to put it on, lest I drop it and shatter my hours of toil in one quick motion. The feat is still damn impressive, though.

Build Your Own HALO Armor

Being the Master Chief for your next convention or even Halloween is a lofty goal, because if you’re going to do it, you better do it right. Thankfully, these “Build Your Own Halo Armor” instructions can get you as close as can be to the genuine article without needing to be a genetically enhances superhuman soldier. All of the materials you’ll need for construction are included, and the instructions are detailed enough that you should be able to cruise through it without much trouble. After all is said and done, you’ll look very much akin to a Spartan. Not bad, eh?

Continue Reading on Walyou]]> If you have ever sat down to watch a recent spy movie like James Bond or Mission Impossible, chances are that you have often marveled at the array of gadgetry that the protagonist has on hand throughout the movie. You also accept the fact that such a device would likely cost hundreds of thousands of dollars and, even if it existed, it would be well out of your price range. Yet if you fancy yourself a spy in training, there are some gadgets you can use without breaking your bank. Here are a few that we have featured.

Spycam Video Pen Camera

Whether you are gearing up for your next mission or trying to find out if someone is snagging your donuts from the office fridge, this Spycam pen camera is here to help. The form is certainly unassuming, resembling that of a regular old run of the mill pen. Inside, however, you’ll find 4GB of storage capacity and a camera capable of capturing hours of quality video in AVI format. iRobot Surveillance Bot

He can also take a significant beating, including up to a 15 foot drop onto solid rock, or being doused with water. This way, you can throw the little guy into areas you wouldn’t want to step into.
